An abode to the father of the nation Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi, Sabarmati Ashram is a emblematic place of the city of Ahmedabad. The ashram is also known as Gandhi Ashram and Hridayakunj. It was named after the river Sabarmati on which the ashram is located.
The ashram is functioning as a museum for visitors to have a glimpse of M.K.Gandhi’s house, morals and lifestyle. Sabarmati Ashram symbolizes as an inspiration to generations.
The ashram includes Magan Niwas, Upasana Mandir, Hriday Kunj, Vinoba Kutir, Nandini, Udyog mandir, Somnath Chattralaya, Teacher’s Niwas, Gandhi in Ahmedabad, Painting Gallery, “My life is my message”, Library and Archives.
